A Closet in the Ocean

overview

During the 'Virtual Prototyping' course at @PoliMI, my team and I delved into Unity 3D and Spatial.io to create an immersive experience.

We designed a sci-fi, utopian-inspired showroom where users could customise the look of a giant avatar in the middle of the ocean, exploring floating islands while experimenting with different outfits.

Goal

Design an AR Experience on Spatial.io

My Role

I recreated the environment in Unity and implemented all the interactions and animations using the Spatial.io toolkit.

Timeline

2 weeks

Our concept

What if we place a giant avatar in the middle of the ocean?

Our showroom concept featured a central holographic avatar that users could dress with outfits from the collection.

The surreal setting, surrounded by a tranquil sunset sea, enhanced the focus on the garments. Floating islands held the outfits and encouraged exploration through a quest-based system, adding engagement and a sense of progression.

Development process

We designed the environment in Rhino7 and prepared all the various 3D garments using CLOD3D. We then import everything into Unity to implement animations and interactions using the Spatial.io toolkit.
